The Astra Theatre originally opened in 1936 and operated as a family owned movie theatre in the heart of downtown Jasper for 66 years. In 2002 the theatre closed it's doors until re-opened and underwent massive renovation and infrastructure improvements while retaining it's original character. All this work was funded by our fabulous community and ran by The Next Act, a 501c3 non-profit.
